Information We Collect

Tours After Dark collects: (1) information you provide directly, such as your name and email address when you contact us; (2) messages you choose to type into Nox, our AI chat assistant (see below); (3) basic technical information that our web host records in standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability; and (4) only if you choose “Accept analytics,” pseudonymous website-usage information through Google Analytics 4, such as pages viewed, referral source, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and interaction events such as outbound booking-link clicks. Analytics stays off unless you accept, and we do not use it to track your activity across unrelated websites.

How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we hold to: respond to enquiries you send us; operate, secure, and maintain the site; understand which guides and experiences are useful when analytics consent is given; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Google Analytics and Your Choice

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure site usage and improve Tours After Dark. The analytics tag is hosted locally for faster delivery, but consented measurement data is still sent to Google for processing. We have disabled advertising personalisation signals and do not use Google advertising cookies on this site. You can accept or reject analytics with equal prominence on the first visit and change your choice at any time using the Privacy choices control. Rejecting analytics does not affect access to the site.

Nox, Our AI Chat Assistant

Nox is an AI assistant. When you send Nox a message, the text of your message (and the conversation context needed to answer it) is processed by OpenAI, a third-party AI provider based in the United States, to generate a reply. This means anything you type into the chat is transferred to OpenAI and handled under its data-processing terms. Please do not enter sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or identity details) into the chat — Nox only needs a city, a vibe, and who is going. We do not use chat messages to build marketing profiles, and we do not sell them. If you contact us at the address below, we will delete any chat data we hold that can be linked to you.

Affiliate Partners and Third-Party Links

Tours After Dark is a referral site. When you click through to a booking partner (Viator, GetYourGuide, Klook), you leave Tours After Dark and the booking is completed on the partner’s own platform under their privacy policy. Each partner acts as an independent controller of the data you provide on its own site. We may receive aggregate, anonymised reporting about referrals and commissions from those partners, but we do not receive your personal booking details. As affiliate program approvals become active, each approved partner is listed on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

International Data Transfers

Tours After Dark is operated from the United States. If you visit from the EU, UK, or elsewhere, the limited data described above (server logs, contact emails, consented analytics data, and any chat messages) may be processed in the United States. Where a transfer safeguard is required, we rely on our providers’ participation in recognised transfer frameworks (such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

This site uses strictly necessary or preference storage for core operation and to remember your privacy choice. Google Analytics cookies are used only after you accept analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the current cookie list and retention details.

Data Retention

We keep email correspondence for up to 3 years. Standard server logs are retained for a short period by our web host for security and troubleshooting. Google Analytics retention is managed in our GA4 property and applies only to consented analytics data. You can request deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; object to processing; withdraw consent; and request data portability. Withdrawing analytics consent is available at any time through Privacy choices. To exercise other rights, email us at hello@toursafterdark.com. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date on this page.
